Eagle with Fish
Colorado Pink Alabaster
13"x7"x13"
The fierceness of this bird of prey is emphasized by
the dark red coloring of the stone on his head. The iron oxide
in the stone has created this dynamic color. The bird grasps his
dinner, a trout ,in his talons. The feet help to give this bird
a sense of flight as the open shape under it creates movement.
I used to live in Florida where most of the eagles are fishermen!
I did a lot of wind surffing on the lakes. Sometimes an eagle
would swoop down and pick a fish out from the water in front of
you. It was one of those wonderful moments in nature that you
can only have if you are silent.
