Chloride/Apple/PineTabletop
I was first attracted to this beautiful
spalted piece of apple wood. It suggested a chest which as I carved
looked almost like a Roman armor; therefore I went with the Roman
look. I usually have a series of heads in my studio that I have
roughed out. This dark Chloride stone seemed to relate to the
spalted lines in the chest. I had a branch from a pine tree that
became the neck. I like the drama created by the contrasting tones
along with the serene expression on the face
