The chain inspired this sculpture. I called it Captive because it relates to the idea of ART being help captive to the different isms of art. The face portrayed is a Cubistic mask and the body the perfect Greek form. There is always the question in art of how to CREATE art. When is a image that is worthy to be called ART. We artists have all the history of art on our shoulders. The main reason I create sculptures is it fullfills me. Sometimes that art history is a burden.
