This sculpture borrowed from the Greek sculpture "Fallen Warrior" is a tribute to the firefighters of Sept. 11. The piece is emerging out of the stone. Chisel marks are evident on the right. It is more finished on the left. I chose this period because of its emphasis on idealism and democracy.
